Uganda set to host 2019 CECAFA U20 tournament hosts


East African Football governing body CECAFA on Wednesday confirmed Uganda as hosts of the 2019 Under 20 National team Championships.

The tournament which will take place for the first time after eight years is scheduled to take place between January 14th and 27th.

The two weeks tournament will be hosted by two towns, Gulu and Jinja.

The event is sponsored by world football governing body FIFA.

According to CECAFA Genaral Secretary Nicholas Musonye, the tournament will coast approximately fifty million Uganda Shillings (50M).

Eleven counries, Rwanda, Kenya, Tanzania, Somalia, Burundi, Eritrea, Djibouti, Ethiopia, Sudan, South Sudan and hosts Uganda have confirmed participation.
