Uganda’s U17 National Neam, the Uganda Cubs, were drawn against two time champions and West African Champions Nigeria, neighbors Tanzania and Angola for the upcoming AFCON U17 Finals due next year, 2019, in Tanzania.
The draw is took place on Thursday at Mlimani City Conference Centre in Dar Es Salam Tanzania.
Tanzania will host the tournament next year (2019).
The Uganda Cubs qualified for the tournament for the very first time after winning the CAF Zonal Qualifiers in August 2018.
The tournament will see a total of eight teams compete for the championship.
The teams include Tanzania (hosts), Morocco, Senegal, Angola, Guinea, Nigeria, Cameroon and Uganda.
Uganda’s opening match will see them take on Angola.
The tournament will take place between 14th and 28th April 2019, the semi finalists will be the teams representing Africa during the Under 17 world Cup which will be hosted by Peru in the same year.
Group A: Tanzania, Angola, Uganda, Nigeria.
Group B: Guinea, Cameroon, Morocco, Senegal.
