Nyamityobora FC picked up their second loss in the 2018/19 Star Times Uganda Premier League campaign with an enthralling 2-3 loss to Bright Stars at Wankulukuku Stadium on Wednesday.
The Banyakare started the game positively and in the fifth minute the deadlock was broken with what can only be described as a picture perfect strike from Patrick Gonahasa.
Young star Ibrahim Dada doubled the Banyakare’s lead after thirty five minutes to give the league debutants a 2-0 lead at half time.
Bright Stars captain Nelson Ssenkatuka reduced the deficit to 2-1 after he pulled one back from the penalty spot five minutes after the restart before two quick fire goals from Alfred Onek and Kayanja Brian in stoppage time sealed the visitors’ comeback.
Head Coach James Odoch made three changes to the side that was defeated by Onduparaka FC at the Green Light Stadium last weekend on match day one.
Young striker Ibrahim Dada, midfielder Arinaitwe Marvin and center back Calvin Barni were brought in to make their first starts for the Banyakare this season.
The loss means Nyamityobora FC go bottom of the league table on goal difference after two games, while Bright Stars go top with six points from the same number of games.
Since the start of last season, Nyamityobora FC have lost two games at home, suffering defeats to Ntinda United and Bright Stars.
The Wankuluku based side’s last two home defeats have been 2-3, a 2-3 loss to Ntinda United in the FUFA Big League and Wednesday’s 2-3 loss to Bright Stars.
The Banyakare have also lost five games in their last twenty seven competitive games (excluding preseason tournaments).
Nyamityobora FC have scored in all their home games since the start of last season a record they share with League champions Vipers SC.

Bright Stars have registered back to back League wins for the first time since April, when they registered wins over Mbarara City FC (1-0) and Kirinya Jinja SSS (1-2).
