Sheema north by-election: Vote counting underway, as NRM takes Early lead

Vote counting is underway in Sheema north, voting ended this evening.

Sheema north seat fell vacant after Dr.Elioda Tumwesigye who was representing it in parliament crossed to represent the newly created Sheema municipality.

 Preliminary results so far indicate that NRM’s Naume Kibaaju is leading her closed challenger, former Mitooma RDC and FDC candidate, Niwagaba Guma.

Earlier on, Police arrested Former Ishaka-Bushenyi municipality mp, Oddo Tayebwa together with Stanley Katembeyi, the Mbarara district FDC Chairman, on allegations of Inciting Violence, Voter Bribery and Campaigning at polling stations, according to Greater Bushenyi police spokesperson, Marial Tumusiime.
