‘Respect your bosses to secure your jobs’, Graduands Told
Granduands and working class have been challenged to respect their bosses if they would like to secure their jobs.
While addressing a mass of people at the 1st graduation ceremony of Mbarara discovery college (MDC) in Kakiika division, Mbarara municipality the executive director Jimmy Ndyamuhaki revealed that many grandaunts fail to get jobs due to poor approach.
A total of 301 students who graduated were awarded with diplomas and certificates in different courses.
Osbert Tashobya, the principal Mbarara discovery says the biggest challenge they are facing as an institution is the late payment of tuition by the parents which makes the institution to fail to deliver to the expectations.
The chairman LCII Kakiika division, Brazio Kyabwisho who represented mayor Mbarara municipality, Robert Mugabe who was the chief guest at the function asked the graduands to upgrade not to stop at the certificate and Diploma levels.
Kyabwisho said the mayor promised them 2 computers.
Talking to Mbarara sun, some of the students who graduated in various courses expressed fear over job scarcity.The students say, with the yearly pouring into the job market of graduates, and the increasing competition, coupled by vices such as corruption, they say getting jobs is not clear cut.
Recent statistics reported by trading economic.com, Unemployment Rate in Uganda increased to 2.28 percent in 2016 from 2.15 percent in 2015.
This is an average of 2.41 percent from 1991 until 2016, reaching an all time high of 3.50 percent in 2002 and a record low of 0.94 percent in 1991.
