Nyamityobora FC 9-0 Kitagata FC
Patrick Gonahasa scored a first half hat-trick as Nyamityobora FC walloped Nyakayojo-Mbarara based side Kitagata FC 9-0 at Ntare Grounds on Wednesday morning to continue preparations ahead of the upcoming 2018/19 Star Times Uganda Premier League season.
The Banyakare got to a bright start when captain Henry Kamara’s low cross was met by former Maroons forward Patrick Gonahasa in the box who worked a yard of space to beat his defender and fire beyond the keeper from close range to give the hosts an early lead inside five minutes.
Gonahasa then headed in from a corner after half an hour to double Nyamityobora’s lead following another questionable marking fro Kitagata’s defense.
The forward then completed his hat-trick in the forty third minute to give the hosts a 3-0 advantage before the break.
James Odoch’s men started the second half from where they ended the first and offered Kitagata FC no time to regroup with Charles Musige making it 4-0 after he brilliantly controlled the ball outside the eighteen to score a spectacular goal into the right-hand top corner immediately after the restart.
Buruhan Matovu’s dangerous delivery caused havoc inside the Kitagata FC’s box and Musige was on hand to apply the finishing touch from close range to make it 5-0 five minutes later and complete his double.
Kitagata’s defense simply couldn’t handle Nyamityobora FC’s movement in the final third, and just two minutes later, Mugisha Malouda’s cross was met by Alex Komakech whose low short was deflected past the goal keeper by the defense for the Banyakare’s 6th.
Second half substitute Charles Ssebutinde then fired into the top corner from Peter Otai’s squared pass after a well composed right-footed finish to make it 7-0 on the day.
A minute later, Mugisha Malouda who assisted assistant captain Alex Komakech’s goal, this time moved from provider to scorer with a close range finish after meeting Ssebutinde Charles’ through ball.
The game looked as if it had run its course, but with less than three minutes left on the clock, there was one final chance for another substitute Kiiza David to register his name on the score sheet as he pounced on a loose ball inside the Kitagata FC’s box and fired a fierce volley beyond the goal keeper to complete the rampage.
This is the first home friendly Nyamityobora FC have played since their return from the Philip Omondi invitational tournament in Kampala.
