Parents asked to support children to develop their talents


The Kabale District Woman Member of Parliament Hon. Catherine Ndamira Atwakire has called on parents to support and encourage their children to develop their talent by allowing them to participate in games and sports activities.

This was contained in a speech read today by the newly appointed Ntungamo Deputy Resident District Commissioner Isaiah Byarugaba Kanyamahane during the Rushoroza Cathedral Parish Youth Association football final games held at Kyanamira play ground in Kabale district.

In the final foot ball matches, Muyumbu Centre girls defeated Rushoroza Centre girls by three goals to nil while in boys,Rwakashande Centre defeated Nyakijumba Centre by three to two on spot kicks after the match ended in a goalless draw.

Hon. Atwakire asked parents to support and allow their children participate in games and sports activities saying that many people from the world like Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo have ridden on their talent to become successful.

The parish priest of Rushoroza cathedral Rev. Fr. Baritazare Byomugabe said the games were organized with the main aim of bringing the youth together and keeping them busy free from alcoholism and drug abuse.

Hon. Atwakire donated two goats to each of the two team that won the final games while the second runners each received a goat. She also donated balls to each of the teams.
