Nyamityobora FC invited to KCCA FC’s Phillip Omondi Invitational Tournament.


Uganda Premier League newcomers Nyamityobora FC will participate in  the third edition of the Phillip Omondi Invitational Tournament organized by KCCA FC.

The Banyakare will be joined by FUFA Big League sides Proline FC and Wakiso Giants together with the hosts KCCA FC to make up the four teams.

The annual two day tournament is held in memory of club and Uganda Cranes’ legend Phillip Omondi and will take place on Friday 14th and Saturday 15th September 2018 at KCCA FC’s Star Times Stadium Lugogo in Kampala .

The games will be played on round robin basis with each team set to play two games where three points are awarded for a victory, one point for a draw and each goal scored is supplemented by a point, the team that collects the highest number of points wins a trophy.

The draws were conducted on 10th September 2018 and two time winners and defending champions Proline FC will take on Nyamityobora FC on Friday 14th September at 12pm, with the hosts KCCA FC taking on Wakiso Giants at 3pm.

Saturday will have two fixtures with Wakiso Giants opening up against Proline at 2pm and the last game of the tournament will see the home side KCCA FC tackle Nyamityobora FC at 4pm.

The winner of this year’s tournament will walk away with a trophy, medals and One million Uganda Shillings.

The MVP will take home Two hundred thousand Uganda Shillings while the top goal scorer will be rewarded with One hundred thousand Uganda Shillings.

FUFA Big League side Proline FC won the last edition after beating hosts KCCA FC 2-1 and drawing 1-1 against Maroons FC.

This will be the second tournament Nyamityobora FC will participate in after taking part in the Pilsner Super Eight where they lost 4-0  in the semi finals against KCCA FC.

Nyamityobora FC will be looking to improve on their performance on the artificial turf since they  failed to register a single goal in the last two games played at the Star Times Stadium Lugogo, losing 1-0 to Ndejje University in the FUFA Big League playoff final and 4-0 in the FUFA Super Eight game against KCCA FC.
