Ntungamo Leaders Urged to Support Community Schools
As a way of promoting education in Ntungamo Municipality, the leaders have been implored to lobby, own and support their traditional schools in their communities instead of concentrating to distant ones.
According to senior assistant Town clerk Central Division Ntungamo Municipality, Enoch Basude those local schools can also perform well like any other schools when they are equipped to standard.
Basude made remarks yesterday while handing over 36 three seater twin desks to Ntungamo Primary schools which cost six million one hundred thousand twenty thousand shillings only under discretional development equalization grant (DDEG) from government.
Ntungamo Primary school was ranked first in last year’s PLE among UPE schools in Ntungamo Municipality with enrollment of 635 pupils.
The chairman LCIII Central Division Arinaitwe Dan Kanahe commended the government for the grant saying this will improve the standard since children will study under good environment.
Kanahe hailed the PTA and school management committees for promoting the school by injecting more funds which has enabled the schools to perform well.
The headteacher Nuwamanya Morgan revealed that the children were congested but now they will be relieved.
