Ntungamo Butchers Irked By transfer Of the Abbatoir
The political leaders, Butchers and business community have petitioned the Town clerk Ntungamo municipality over the transfer of town abattoir from Eastern Division to Western Division.
Led by chairman Eastern Division Hajji Hakim Rwomushana and Beinomugisha Elias Kacaafu the councilor for Eastern Division who is also chairperson for finance committee Ntungamo Municipal council, they criticized the way
the political wing headed by mayor Jacob Kafureeka is transferring the only source of revenue from one division to another saying that it illegal.
This prompted Eastern Division to hold an emergency meeting today at the its premises to forge a way on how to defy the directive of Ntungamo Municipal executive resolution to transfer the Town abattoir to build the standard slaughter slag in Western Division.
The stain came after the Municipal council proposes to construct standard slaughter slag saying that the current one is small and not efficient and they told the Eastern Division to look for a land where to be built.
Un fortunately no sooner they have got the land than found an advert on the notice board dated February 14th 2018 showing the highest contractor who is going to construct the slaughter slag in Western Division.
Speaking to Beinomugisha Elias Kacaafu the councilor for Eastern Division who is also chairperson for finance committee Ntungamo Municipal council noted that they will not succumb to selfish interests of some political
leaders in Ntungamo Municipality to transfer the abattoir when they have already secured land at 50m shillings.
However trying to reach the mayor Ntungamo Municipality Jacob Kafureeka was futile since his personal phone could not be picked.
