Museveni Cash stirs anger in Ibanda

Youth in Ibanda district under their umbrella of Ibanda youth Initiative for sustainable development yesterday  staged a peaceful demonstration and matched to the office of the RDC Mr. Eliasto Akatuheebwa citing the allocation of Presidential handshake to the
wrong association.

Over 50 demonstrators led by Innocent Mbabazi Ayebazizwe a member of Youth initiative, moved from their office located at Jubilee street and matched to the office of the RDC requesting him to give them a lasting solution saying that the presidential handshake of Shs 50 million which was given to them on 4th May 2018 during the
presidential visit to Ibanda district.

Mbabazi says that the money was lobbied by Ibanda youth initiative for sustainable development but to their surprise, the woman Member of Parliament for Ibanda district connived with other legislators and gave money to Ibanda young entrepreneurs Sacco (IYESA) in Ibanda district which was formed in August this year.

While briefing the RDC, Mbabazi said that they need the Shs 50 million divided by two associations such that they can all benefit.

Meanwhile, the Ibanda district resident commissioner told the demonstrators that The woman Member of Parliament for Ibanda district Jovrine Kaliisa wanted the youth under Ibanda youth initiative for sustainable development to open an account in Ibanda young entrepreneurs Sacco such that they can benefit in that way.

In his way forward, the RDC Mr. Eliasto Akatuheebwa promised to talk to the Member of Parliament Jovrine Kaliisa such that they can share the handshake by 50%.

Akatuheebwa later wrote a letter requesting the woman member of Parliament to give Shs 25 million to Ibanda youth initiative for sustainable developmet not later than Thursday this week copying to the DPC, LCV and all Members of parliament.
