More than 10 Rwandan women arrested in Mbarara

As one way of ensuring security in Mbarara, security authorities have carried out an operation and arrested about 20 women, believed to be engaged in illicit activities.

The operation which was sanctioned by the Mbarara district deputy Resident district commissioner, Emmy Katera Turyabagyenyi targeted Deck two bar and lodge, located on High street, in Mbarara town.

 According to Katera, the operation carried out last night followed intelligence reports that about 20 girls spending the entire day sleeping, and leaving the building at night.

He adds that on arresting them, most of them were found to be non-Ugandans, mostly from Rwanda and will be questioned on how they entered the country, and the activities they are engaged in only at night.

Meanwhile Katera discloses that all chairpersons in Mbarara have been directed to register all the residents in the areas to ensure security.

Katera further revealed that as the festive season sets in, as security, they are to embark on more operations to rid Mbarara, which is a transit town of wrongdoers.
