Dark corridors, also known HIV corridors have been cited as the serious threats towards fighting HIV/AIDS especially in urban areas.
Wilber Tusimire the HIV/AIDS center programs manager Mbarara notes that the urban areas along the way have turned up to be a big threat in fighting the spread of the virus.
He adds that these places accommodate people of different classes who live reckless life and it is easy for them to spread the virus.
According to Tusimire, these places facilitate to the increasing cases of commercial sex which is a blockade in fighting HIV.
Research conducted by psychological and socio-medical aspects of HIV/AIDS in 2017 indicate that long distance drivers spread HIV/AIDS with 17% and the most targeted class of people are people who do commercial sex.
