As one way to serve the customers better, Airtel Uganda, one of the biggest telecommunications companies in Uganda has opened a new service centre in Mbarara.
As the customer base for Airtel in the region grows, there has have been complaints of congestion and time wastage by customers, while queuing for service at one service centre that was existent.
Already airtel had one service centre, but given the overwhelming number of customers, it couldnot be enough.
Speaking at the official opening yesterday evening , Patrick Adima, the Airtel western region business manager said the opening of a new centre will ensure improved client service.
Speaking as the guest of honour, at the function which was also attended by theRwizi region police commander, Robert Walugembe, the Mbarara clerk, Lwanaga Edward, said the addition of a service, is a sign of development for airtel and Mbarara town .

Lwanga used the same occasion to challenge airtel to participate in cooperate social responsibility such as cancer runs among others.
Responding to the matter, Patrick Adima, the Airtel western region business manager, said overtime airtel has been participating in these activities such as airtel raising stars, rehabilitation of schools, sponsoring games, among others. He further revealed that the company plans to engage in more of such activities in the coming financial year.
