Mbarara City FC registered their second preseason tour of Western Uganda win with a 1-0 victory over Ishaka-Bushenyi based Six-O-Kizinda FC on Thursday.

Makueth Wol Bolo scored the only goal of the day in the twenty second minute to maintain their 100% preseason record.

Mbarara City FC have now scored three goals in two games and kept two clean sheets away from home after winning against Ibanda Select 2-0 in their tour opener.

Before the game, many players said they were aware of the hardships of playing against village and non professional sides that have bad pitches and don’t fear injuries like those playing in the league.

This was the first game the three coaches Charles Livingstone Mbabazi, assistant Baker Kasule and goalkeeping coach Yusuf Ssenyonjo have taken charge of as the team looks to strengthen for the upcoming 2018-2019 Uganda Premier League season.

Midfielder Ivan Eyam missed the trip to Ishaka because he is part of the Uganda Cranes team that will be playing in Kasese on Saturday 21st July and will also be unavailable when the Ankole Lions play their third preseason match.

Team top scorer Emmanuel Ibe Obina and fellow country man Elieza Okorie did not travel for the match having reported for training on Wednesday as they returned from holiday.

The Ankole Lions will next play Rushere FC for their third preseason build up match on Saturday 21st July 2018 at kakyeka Stadium.

The game will kick off at 4pm.
