Government Challenged on Tourism Sector Funding
Government has been challenged to increase on funding into tourism industry from USD 5million to USD 20million per year as other countries do, for Uganda to attract more rich foreign tourists and investors as well.
While talking at a two day workshop from June 2, to June 3, 2018 organized by San Diego group of companies in Mbarara town , Mr Hebert Byaruhanga, a representative from Uganda tourism association expressed that the industry has grown “Ugandan tourism industry has improved , it’s different from 20 years ago, though gov’t should put more money to attract rich tourists”, Byaruhanga says. He also wants gov’t to invest in trainings for the industry to have enough skilled manpower not to disappoint tourists.
However , Majidu Amon Mugisha who is the executive director for San diego group of companies asks company owners not be selfish , knowledge shared can create new business operators to create employment.
