History to be rewritten As Trump Meets North Korea’s Kim Jong Un Next Month
US president , Donald John Trump has revealed that a historic meeting between him and North Korea’s leader, Kim Jong Un has been scheduled for June 12 in Singapore. The meeting will be the first ever between a sitting US president and Korean leader
Mr.Trump surprised the world last month when he accepted Kim Jong Un’s invitation for a dialogue.
The announcement comes a day after US Secretary of State, Mike Pompeo’s visit to Pyongyang in which he meet president Kim to arrange for the meeting between the two demonstrably ‘enemy world leaders’.
The visit of Pompeo also saw North Korea release three Americans who had been detained by the Korea on charges of inciting insurrection.
America and Korea have had a rough times since Kim Jong Un came to power in 2011, following the death of his father, Kim Jong 11 Sung.
The friction stems from North Korea’s missile development in what is seen as an arms race, given the bad relationship with South Korea, a relationship that was corrected recently.
